What Is Happening?
The DEA has announced its intent to emergency Schedule I SR-17018. If this happens, SR-17018 would be placed into the most restrictive federal category, meaning access for customers, researchers, vendors, and the broader SR community could be severely restricted or eliminated almost immediately. This emergency restriction would last for a minimum of two years, with a possible one-year extension.

Why This Fight Matters
We believe SR-17018 is being unfairly grouped with three other synthetic opioids that may have stronger arguments for restriction. SR-17018 is different. It has not been shown to be an imminent threat to public safety, and many in this community believe it has real potential as a breakthrough tool for opioid dependence, tolerance management, and withdrawal support.
We are not sitting back and letting this happen without a fight. A team is already forming with leaders in the SR community and top vendors contributing to the effort. We currently have a renowned attorney involved who has direct experience with DEA scheduling matters and has had wins against the DEA before, including work connected to the successful rescheduling of cannabis.
This is not a pipe dream. We have a real chance to stall this action before it takes effect, giving us the breathing room needed to mount an even stronger fight to keep SR-17018 legal long term.
